Meet Board Certified Oral Surgeon Dr. Elias
Dr. Rick Elias grew up locally in Armonk, New York. He attended Byram Hills High School. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Lafayette College, he earned his D.M.D degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and his M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School. He served his residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital and is well trained in the full scope of the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from insertion of dental implants to facial reconstruction to the employment of endoscopic techniques for the treatment of various traumatic injuries.
Dr. Elias is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is on the attending staffs of the Mount Sinai Hospital, New York/Presbyterian Hospital, Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. Dr. Elias has particular interest and experience in microsurgical nerve repair for the treatment of altered sensations of the nerves to the jaws and the tongue and has lectured extensively on this subject.
He is a member of the Medical Advisory Board and the oral and maxillofacial surgeon of the Little Baby Face Foundation, a foundation that provides transportation, housing and free facial surgery for children born with facial deformities. His ability to correct the facial distortions of genetic growth abnormalities has resulted in remarkable functional and esthetic improvement in these youngsters and has endeared him to their families.
Dr. Elias lives in Larchmont, New York with his wife and two children. He coaches little league baseball and is a member of the PTA.
